Delays in Processing Documents

Colleges and Universities are currently unable to make corrections or updates to the 2024-25 FAFSA. The U.S. Department of Education announced that institutions would be unable to submit corrections to student FAFSA records in bulk until the first half of August. The Financial Aid Office will collect documentation for verification, special circumstances, and unusual circumstances but will not be able to process the documents at this time.

Please Note: These are estimated disbursement dates. Students must maintain all eligibility requirements at the time of disbursement to receive Federal Student Aid funding. It is the student’s responsibility to review all financial aid policies and the Financial Aid Guide Students must complete a FAFSA every year. Students must be making satisfactory academic progress to continue to receive financial aid.

Only students who have submitted the necessary documentation, meet all financial aid eligibility requirements, and are active in classes will receive disbursements as outlined in the above schedule. If you have late enrollment, submit late documentation, and/or do not meet all eligibility requirements, your disbursement will not follow this same schedule.

Financial Aid disbursements will occur on a daily basis after the initial release of funds (outlined above), however the Student Finance Office will process refunds for students on a weekly basis, typically on Thursdays.

Campus Store Vouchers

Campus store vouchers are an easy way for you to utilize financial aid funds to cover books and other materials. This voucher is a service provided to students with financial aid that allows them to purchase textbooks and needed supplies at the NTC Campus Store. Students may choose not to utilize this service, in which case no further action is needed. If you wish to utilize the campus store voucher, please click the link below for more information.

Financial Aid Pell Recalculation Dates

The Pell recalculation date (sometimes referred to as the census date) is a date in the semester when the Financial Aid Office is required to evaluate your Federal Pell Grant eligibility based on your current enrollment status. The Pell Recalculation Date Policy applies to eligibility of the Federal Pell Grant only.

SemesterDate
Summer 202411:59pm, Sunday, 6/16/24
Fall 202411:59pm, Sunday, 9/8/24
Spring 202511:59pm, Sunday, 2/9/25

Any course(s) added after the Pell Recalculation Date (see above chart) will not count towards your Federal Pell Grant eligibility, regardless of the start date for those course(s). If you drop, withdraw from, or do not attend classes you were enrolled in, your Pell Grant may be adjusted.

Financial aid offers for late-start students are based on the number of credits a student has on the initial day the student enrolled in classes.

If you drop, withdraw from, or do not attend classes that you were registered for, your financial aid package may be adjusted in the following situations:

  • If funding has already disbursed, you may be required to repay your financial aid.
  • If funding has not yet disbursed and:
    • your enrollment decreases to less than 6 credits, any loans you were offered will not disburse.
    • your financial aid package contains any state grants, your offer may be reevaluated, depending on the grant.
    • your financial aid package contains a Pell Grant, your offer will be reevaluated to determine your eligibility.
