Develops skill in gas metal arc welding. Learners use spray transfer to make fillet and groove welds in the flat and horizontal positions on steel. Weld quality is assessed per AWS D1.1 Structural Steel Code.

This course is offered as self-paced learning. Lab competencies will be completed in the Welding Lab at the Wausau Campus. This lab is open Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, 12:00PM-8:00PM and Thursday 12:00PM-5:00PM. Contact advisor Houa Lee with questions.
