Northcentral Technical College (NTC) now offers a distance learning option for the Medical Laboratory Technician program.

This option allows students to earn their Medical Laboratory Technician degree by completing coursework online and performing labwork at a clinical site in a community near them. This option may be ideal for students who like a more flexible course schedule and have full laboratory support. Please note, there are additional admissions steps required for this option.

Coursework for this option is the same as the traditional Medical Laboratory Technician program and certain courses may be eligible for credit for prior learning.

How to Get Started

Step 1: Submit Application

Apply to the Medical Laboratory Technician Associate Degree program. Please select the “Distance Learning Option” when asked which program format you are interested in.

Step 2: Submit a Statement of Support

You must complete a Statement of Support form from your desired lab location and email it to registration@ntc.edu before you can be accepted into the distance learning option.

The Statement of Support form will also need to be reviewed and approved by the Medical Laboratory Technician Program Director at NTC. After support is approved, NTC will ensure an affiliation agreement can be obtained with the clinical laboratory.
