Develops competency in transcribing digitally dictated and handwritten inpatient and outpatient reports organized by body system. Emphasis is placed on the development of accuracy and medical knowledge for transcription of medical reports. Learners will utilize a variety of reference materials to include text, software and reputable internet resources and will apply proper English grammar, punctuation and style skills and editing and proofreading techniques. Emphasis is placed on the importance of confidentiality and understanding professional issues in healthcare documentation.
