(WAUSAU, Wis.) – Northcentral Technical College (NTC) and area high schools celebrate Dual Credit Day on Tuesday, May 2, 2023. The date also marks a decade of celebrating the statewide recognition of college-level classes for high school students at no cost through dual credit.
Established by proclamation of the Office of the Governor in April 2013, Dual Credit Day highlights a collaboration of the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) and Department of Public Instruction (DPI). The collaboration provides Wisconsin students with academic options that result in meaningful career opportunities. Last year alone, more than 3,600 high school students in the NTC District enrolled in nearly 20,000 dual credits, saving $2.2+ million in tuition.
Students across central Wisconsin will help celebrate this momentous day by sporting t-shirts that signify they are earning college credit while in high school. To learn more about the dual credit classes offered at area high schools visit www.ntc.edu/dual-credit.
