OPPORTUNITIES IN 2009: August 2009
18-20 scholars need host families for a semester or year (some families already indicated an interest – thank you!). Hosts near a bus line are ideal, but scholars can stay anywhere if the host is willing to provide transportation.
GOALS:The SEED program reaches socio-economically disadvantaged but talented people from Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, to develop future leaders of these nations through a two-year technical and leadership program in the United States. |

OPPORTUNITIES IN 2009: July 2009
40 scholars seek a host family for one week (July 20- 26). The scholars are busy during the day but have evenings and the weekend to spend with the host. Participants say spending a week in Wausau with an American family is always the highlight of their experience!
GOALS: The MEPI Study of the United States for Undergraduate Student Leaders at Georgetown University is an intensive six-week program for scholars from the Middle East and North Africa to develop leadership skills and expand their understanding of American society and culture. |

OPPORTUNITIES IN 2009: August 2009
Friendship families are needed for a year. These scholars live independently in the apartments but appreciate having a friendship family that invites them to dinner at home, takes them shopping, or includes them in family events.
GOALS: The CCI Program provides quality educational programs, professional development, employment skills and a first-hand understanding of American society to under-served, non-elite international students, particularly women and students in their early/mid- twenties who already have work experience. |

OPPORTUNITIES IN 2009: August 2009
1-3 scholars will arrive and be in need of either a host family to live with or a mentor family who will support a scholar living at the UWMC dorm (i.e. with shopping, home-cooked meals, family events, etc.)
GOALS: The UGRAD Program provides opportunities for undergraduate students from former Soviet Republics for one year of full-time, non-degree study in the United States. Scholars live in dormitories or with host families where they will benefit in daily cultural exchange with their host families. |
