Certification Process

Certification of faculty, counselors, instructional specialists, librarian, instructional supervisors and administrators is governed by the Wisconsin Administrative Rule, Chapter TCS3, which identifies minimum requirements for initial certification and continued certification. Specific certification requirements for each of these positions can be found at the WTCS website.

If an individual is interested in pursuing certification through the WTCS, they must first be employed at one of the technical colleges in Wisconsin.  The WTCS certification process begins after a district has hired an instructor or made an assignment.  WTCS requires official transcripts from individuals and written verification of occupational experience from present or previous employers as part of the certification process.

District staff are responsible to explain how certification works to both individuals holding certification and members of the public that would like to be employed at Northcentral Technical College.  After reviewing the WTCS website, if you have any questions contact Mary Herzog at 715-803-1301 or Herzog@ntc.edu.
